Akai Professional MPC Sample Overview The Akai Professional MPC Sample is a portable sampler, sequencer, and effects processor that brings the iconic workflow of vintage MPCs into a compact, modern format using features that allow for limitless creativity, carrying the MPC legacy forward. Inspired by the renowned MPC60 and MPC3000, the MPC Sample comes equipped with legendary MPC pads, a full-color display, and easy creative controls that promote hands-on sampling, looping, and beat-making straight out of the box. The MPC Sample is standalone hardware that includes over 100 kits, 60 inspirational pad and knob effects, and an easy sample-cutting methodology. The MPC sample comes with all the storage and connection possibilities that creatives want. A rechargeable lithium-ion battery, microSD card storage, an inbuilt sequencer, an internal microphone, a built-in speaker, and a USB-C connection make it simple to record, edit, and play audio on the move without the need for a computer or DAW. Old-school look with unlimited contemporary possibilities. Akai’s MPC Sample hides a strong palette of production choices under its elegant, user-friendly interface, which is inspired by the historical era. Sixteen ultra-responsive pads are augmented with custom-assignable knob and pad effects, and a colorful screen gives rapid visual feedback for filtering, chopping, and sequencing. The velocity-sensitive performance pads also have polyphonic aftertouch, giving you vast, nuanced control over every sound, sample, and cut. A total of 16 levels of performance pad options provide a complex combination of modulations. Meanwhile, the 30-millimeter classic MPC fader expands your production capabilities, allowing you to fine-tune the characteristics of your chosen samples at any point during your workflow. Authentic character and cutting-edge colors Akai designed the MPC Sample with over 60 effect types, broad sampling capabilities, and sonic-shaping capabilities to give you complete creative freedom. Four engines—Myriad Pad, Knob, FlexBeat, and Color-Compressor—deliver texturization capabilities encompassing vinyl emulation, chorus, phaser, delay, reverb, lo-fi, ring mod, granulator, and more, in addition to the master compressor’s specific “vintage color” choices. In addition to diversified, high-resolution control and gratifying hands-on tactility, Knob FX may modify incoming audio samples in real time, customizing them to suit your style from the start. Evocative, full-fledged sampling and sequencing The Akai MPC Sample, the latest in the iconic sampler family, wins a position among the top production tools. Its 16-layer architecture is designed for precise sound processing and creative experimentation. The onboard Sample Chop mode allows you to rapidly subdivide into 4-, 8-, and 16-bar sample areas, with cutting-edge audio processing enabling flawless, real-time re-sampling, re-pitching, and time-stretching, whether via a user-assigned threshold or manual control. Furthermore, each of the 16 pads provides unique capabilities via Shift functions, including sampling, recording, MIDI, compression, warping, and project-level tools. Sequencing options include Note Repeat, time-tested sequencing, renowned MPC swings, comprehensive quantization, song mode, and song-to-sequence. Fully portable: seamless connectivity and unparalleled versatility. As Akai’s tiniest MPC, this solo powerhouse performs far beyond its size. The MPC Sample has many connectivity choices, including TRS stereo I/O and a thru-capable 3.5mm MIDI I/O, as well as a CV clock sync output and a dedicated record gain control, which allows you to easily attenuate incoming sample sounds. There’s also a rear-mounted USB-C connector that serves as both a charging source for the rechargeable lithium-ion battery’s 5-hour life and a two-way audio and MIDI processor. Furthermore, the USB-C port enables select smart devices and onboard apps to function as audio sources, allowing bidirectional communication between the device and a slotted microSD card (not included), which can then be loaded into the MPC Sample—effectively turning your phone into another audio source! Designed to provide optimal flexibility and long-term support. The MPC Sample’s many controls make it simple to lock in your performance and production workflow, guaranteeing that inspiration and idea generation keep up with your creativity. In terms of sound, given the MPC Sample’s range of composition and creative tools, Akai outfitted the groovebox with 8GB of internal storage, 2GB of RAM, and further expansion via a microSD card and the onboard SD card access mode. Finally, because the MPC Sample supports Song Mode and the MPC3 OS, your creations may be imported into any compatible environment for more MPC and in-the-box production. In a nutshell, the ultra-portable MPC Sample combines the classic visual aesthetics of the original MPC60 with the cutting-edge sampling, sequencing, and interoperable creative capability that modern composers, DAW-free performers, and sample-chopping lovers require. Akai Professional MPC Sample Features: The groovebox combines iconic MPC60 graphics and cutting-edge performance power, making it portable. The 16 velocity-sensitive performance pads provide polyphonic aftertouch and RGB illumination for enhanced expression and unobtrusive productivity. With 32-voice polyphony and 16-level architecture, 128 samples or 16 sequences (each with 8 per-bank projects) are available at all times. Four FX engines enable over 60 effects, including Pad FX, Knob FX, FlexBeat, Vintage Color, Ring Mod, LFOs, filters, beat repeaters, delays, reverbs, and more. With over 100 drum kits, you may create vast and adventurous rhythms at any time. Use three dedicated FX knobs to manipulate samples while recording or in live performances. The 2.4-inch full-color display provides specific information to improve workflow and augment audio capabilities. Sample Chop speeds up 4-, 8-, and 16-bar sample cuts in manual and threshold settings. Our cutting-edge acoustic processing enables real-time re-pitching, time-stretching, and internal re-sampling, expanding your creative options.
